2015 Vintage Brut "Hommage à Gaston Burtin" Maison Burtin - Champagne
single-vineyard wine

Origin:

Maison Burtin , founded in 1933 in Épernay, dedicates the "Hommage à Gaston Burtin" line to its founder—a pioneer who always placed quality and elegance at the forefront. The 2015 vintage Champagne comes from eight select villages , 77% of which are Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards . These privileged terroirs yield grapes with concentration, depth, and great aging potential.

Expansion:

The cuvée is composed of 48% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay, and 13% Meunier – exclusively from the juice of the first pressing ( 100% cuvée ). After bottle fermentation, the wine matured on its lees for over seven years before being disgorged as a classic Brut with a dosage of 8 g/l . This extended aging lends it complexity, structure, and creaminess.

Aroma & Taste:

In the glass, it presents a bright gold color with fine, persistent perlage. The nose reveals ripe yellow fruits, citrus, and brioche , complemented by nutty notes and subtle spice. On the palate, it is powerful and harmonious , carried by ripe fruit, lively acidity, and a creamy texture. A hint of honey and roasted aromas accompany the long, elegant finish. A vintage champagne that masterfully combines maturity and freshness.

Food recommendation:

Ideal with scallops in butter sauce , lobster , veal loin with morels , or even aged Comté . Thanks to its complexity, it also makes a perfect champagne for festive occasions and grand culinary moments.

Special features of the 2015 vintage in Champagne:

2015 is considered one of the warmest vintages in Champagne and brought one of the fastest ripening periods ever. Despite the heat, the grapes remained healthy and achieved a perfect balance of concentration, sugar ripeness, and fresh acidity . Yields were low, but the quality was all the higher. A vintage that has been widely hailed as a top year in Champagne, with ageable, fully ripe wines of remarkable balance.

Conclusion:

The 2015 Vintage Brut "Hommage à Gaston Burtin" is a champagne of great radiance, expressing the elegance and depth of the Grands and Premiers Crus at the highest level. It combines the signature of the House of Burtin— fruit, elegance, and richness —with the maturity of an exceptional vintage. A great vintage champagne that reflects both the House's history and the exceptional conditions of 2015.
