Origin

The Ried Obegg is one of the most distinctive sites in Southern Styria. The vines grow on sandy topsoil over coral limestone, which gives the wine power, spice, and pronounced minerality. The cool, wind-swept high plateau ensures freshness and elegance. Walter Polz interprets this site in the style of a Bordeaux Sauvignon with Styrian finesse.

Vinification

Selective hand-picking and spontaneous fermentation in 500-liter oak barrels. Followed by 12 months of maturation on full lees in wood and another 12 months of aging in stainless steel. This combination provides structure, depth, and precision.
