Silvaner, Muschelkalk and the Bocksbeutel.

Franconia as a wine region

Franconia lies in northern Bavaria and is one of Germany's most distinctive wine regions. Silvaner, dry white wines, and the iconic Bocksbeutel bottle are particularly characteristic. The vineyards around the Main River, the Steigerwald forest, and the Franconian Saale River are often characterized by Muschelkalk limestone, Keuper marl, and Bunter sandstone. This results in wines with a clear structure, spicy minerality, and often a very dry, straightforward expression. At Florian Fine Wine, we present wines from Franconia that showcase this down-to-earth precision and regional individuality.

Which Franconian wine goes best with which dish?

Franconian wines are excellent food companions. Silvaner pairs particularly well with asparagus, vegetables, fish, and refined regional cuisine. Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay from Franconia also complement poultry, creamy sauces, and light meat dishes very well. In our wine descriptions, you will find suitable recommendations for each food pairing.
