Chile benefits from a virtually unique geographical location. Nestled between the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Andes Mountains to the east, the country stretches for thousands of kilometers, resulting in a wide variety of climates. In the Maipo Valley near the capital, dense Cabernet Sauvignons are produced, while cool coastal valleys like Casablanca are known for vibrant white wines. A particular highlight is the Carmenère grape variety, which nearly disappeared in France but has found a new home in Chile.
