Origin:

The 2022 Cuvée Weiss comes from Bechtolsheim in the heart of Rheinhessen, where Esra Flick has free rein for her own project in the vineyards of her great-cousin Alexander Flick. Together with her partner Thorben Maurer , who has gained experience in the Palatinate, Champagne, Burgundy, and now in the Rheingau with Corvers-Kauter, they create wines with strong character and a clear signature. The soils around Bechtolsheim, characterized by limestone and loess, lend the wines a lush structure and pronounced minerality.

Expansion:

The grapes for the Cuvée Weiss—a blend of traditional Rheinhessen grape varieties such as Kerner, Silvaner, Scheurebe , and a portion of Riesling—were consistently harvested by hand . After a brief maceration period, spontaneous fermentation followed, followed by aging on the full lees for approximately 10 months . The wine was bottled unfined and presents a puristic, low-intervention style with moderate alcohol.

On the nose, the wine presents notes of lime, green apple, and delicate floral aromas , underscored by yeasty, floral spice . On the palate, it's juicy, clear, and stimulating , with a lovely finish and a fine tannin structure from the maceration. The acidity is fresh but not overpowering, making the wine particularly enjoyable to drink .
