Product Information
2022 TBH Vineyard Chardonnay – Small Vines – Sonoma Coast
Single Vineyard
Origin
The TBH Vineyard Chardonnay comes from one of Small Vines' coolest estate sites on the Sonoma Coast. The site is characterized by strong maritime influences, fog, and cool nights, which allows for a long ripening period. The sandy Goldridge soils over sandstone give the wine precision, minerality, and a Burgundian-inspired elegance.
Vinification
The grapes were hand-picked in the cool morning hours and gently pressed. Fermentation took place predominantly in neutral French oak barrels, partly supplemented by stainless steel. The wine aged on fine lees and underwent malolactic fermentation. The vinification is minimally invasive, unfiltered, and unfined.
Aroma and Taste
The nose reveals ripe apple, citrus, and yellow fruits, accompanied by fine roasted notes and hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is powerful and structured, with a creamy texture and balanced acidity. The finish is long, mineral, and elegant.
Food Pairings
Ideal with lobster, scallops, or pan-fried fish. Also suitable with poultry, mushroom dishes, or creamy sauces. Serve at 10–12 °C.
Vintage Characteristics in the Growing Region
The 2022 vintage in Sonoma County was warm and intense. The wines show ripe fruit, concentration, and good structure, while maintaining their freshness and balance in cool sites.
Conclusion
The 2022 TBH Vineyard Chardonnay from Small Vines represents a powerful, yet precise Chardonnay. With depth, mineral tension, and elegant structure, it combines power and finesse.
