Florian Reus
Florian Reus completed his winegrowing training at the Staatlicher Hofkeller Würzburg, at Weingut Keller in Rheinhessen, and at Fürst in Franconia. Currently, since 2018, 0.5 hectares in Randersacker and Mainstockheim have been cultivated by hand.
In 2022, a wine merchant friend told me: "Please try this. I've rarely tasted this quality in Germany before."
No sooner said than done, and I tasted it.
What can I say, I was impressed. Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay are in the range. The wines are very balanced and extremely natural, without losing the tightrope walk between tension and structure. Exclusively traditional methods and manual labor characterize his work; even the press is operated by hand.
Truly wine in its purest, simplest, but also best form, with the potential to be a "long-distance runner."
