Florian Reus
Where to begin? His resume reads like a single success story. His German, European, and World Champion titles as an ultrarunner, peppered with records and numerous competitive victories, speak for his focus on the essentials and absolute will to succeed and win.
He trained as a winemaker at the Staatlicher Hofkeller Würzburg, at the Keller winery in Rheinhessen, and at Fürst in Franconia. Currently, 0.5 hectares of vineyards in Randersacker and Mainstockheim have been cultivated by hand since 2018.
When a wine merchant friend said to me in 2022: "Please try this. I have rarely tasted it of this quality in Germany."
Said, done and tasted
What can I say? I was thrilled. Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay are all in the range. The wines are very balanced and extremely natural, without losing the balance between tension and structure. His work is characterized exclusively by traditional methods and manual labor; even the press is operated by hand.
Truly wine in its purest, simplest, but also best form with the potential to be a "long-distance runner."
