Product Information
2012 Joyau Blanc Extra Brut – Champagne Boizel – Champagne
Single-vineyard wine
Origin
The prestige cuvée "Joyau Blanc" comes from the traditional house of Boizel (founded 1834 in Épernay). Only Grands and Premiers Crus from Champagne are used: Pinot Noir (Mailly, Cumières, Chigny-les-Roses) and Chardonnay (Avize, Chouilly, Vertus). The basis is the first pressing, which stands for the highest quality.
Vinification
A portion of the base wines (approx. 10%) is aged in old oak barrels to create additional complexity. This is followed by over 10 years of lees aging in Boizel's chalk cellars. Disgorged as Extra Brut (4 g/l dosage), the wine combines depth, precision, and aging potential.
Aroma and Taste
In the glass, a deep gold with fine, persistent effervescence. On the nose, white flowers, citrus, toasted almonds, and patisserie. On the palate, silky, precise, and fresh, with citrus tension, creamy texture, and great aromatic depth. The finish is long, mineral, and elegant.
Food Pairings
Ideal with sea bass, guinea fowl with chanterelles, or suckling pig. Also perfect with caviar or as a stand-alone for festive occasions.
Vintage Characteristics in the Growing Region
The 2012 vintage is considered one of the great Champagne vintages, with low yields, high concentration, and perfect balance. Ideal for long-lived prestige Champagnes.
Conclusion
The 2012 Joyau Blanc Extra Brut is a great vintage Champagne of elegance and depth. A collector's item with enormous aging potential and an iconic character.
