Origin

The Ried Hochgrassnitzberg is considered one of the iconic Sauvignon Blanc sites in Southern Styria. The southeast exposure and soils of shell limestone and sandy marl impart cool minerality, finesse, and great elegance. Over 30-year-old vines ensure concentrated, terroir-driven grapes.

Vinification

Selective hand-picking and spontaneous fermentation in 2000-liter oak barrels without cooling. The wine matures for one year unsulphured on the lees, followed by further aging in stainless steel. This combination ensures depth, structure, and precision.

Aroma and Taste

On the nose, quince, white peach, and fine flint. On the palate, Burgundian elegance, taut and precise, with saline minerality and a cool linearity. Despite its power, the wine remains fine, calm, and complex. The finish is long, mineral, and multifaceted.
