Origin

The Tenuta dell'Ornellaia is one of the iconic wineries Bolgheris, founded in 1981 by Lodovico Antinori and now owned by the Frescobaldi family. The 97 hectares of vineyards near the Tuscan coast benefit from maritime climate, intense sun and diverse soils. Le Serre Nuove is the Second Vin of the house – a independent Bolgheri Rosso with the DNA of Ornellaia.

Ausbau

The cuvée consists of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. After selective manual harvesting and separate vinification , the aging takes place 15 months in French barriques (25% new), followed by 6 months of bottle aging. The aim is to combine structure, elegance and early drinking maturity.

Aroma and taste

In the nose dark cherry, blackberry and plum, accompanied by tobacco, herbs and fine spice. On the palate full-bodied, smooth and precise, with velvety tannins and juicy fruit. Notes of licorice, cocoa and Mediterranean herbs add depth. The reverberation is long, harmonious and elegant.
