Tenuta dell’Ornellaia is one of Bolgheri's iconic wineries, founded in 1981 by Lodovico Antinori and now owned by the Frescobaldi family. The 97 hectares of vineyards near the Tuscan coast benefit from a maritime climate, intense sunshine, and diverse soils. Le Serre Nuove is the estate's second wine – a distinct Bolgheri Rosso with the Ornellaia DNA.

Winemaking

The blend consists of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. After selective hand-harvesting and separate vinification, the wine is aged for 15 months in French barriques (25% new), followed by 6 months of bottle aging. The goal is to combine structure, elegance, and early drinkability.

Aroma and Taste

On the nose, dark cherry, blackberry, and plum, accompanied by tobacco, herbs, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, smooth, and precise, with velvety tannins and juicy fruit. Notes of licorice, cocoa, and Mediterranean herbs add depth. The finish is long, harmonious, and elegant.
