Origin

The Sorte Antiga by Rafael Palacios originates from a single plot in Valdeorras, measuring only 0.23 ha. The over 100-year-old, ungrafted vines are planted as individual vines with extremely low yields of under 500g per vine. These conditions ensure maximum concentration, depth, and terroir-driven precision.

Winemaking

The vineyard is managed biodynamically. The grapes are spontaneously fermented on the skins, partly as whole bunches. The wine is aged in amphorae, concrete, and tonneaux, with minimal intervention. Production is limited to under 1000 bottles.

Aroma and Taste

Despite skin contact, the wine exhibits an extremely fine and subtle phenolics. On the nose, it reveals ripe fruit, floral notes, and mineral depth.
