Product Information
2024 Riesling trocken – Clemens Rosenkranz – Rheingau
Single-Vineyard Wine
Origin
The Riesling trocken from Clemens Rosenkranz comes from Hochheim in the eastern Rheingau, influenced by the Main River. The vines grow in the Kostheimer Weiß Erd vineyard on calcareous soils, which provide elegance and salty minerality. Over 35-year-old vines deliver concentrated, terroir-driven grapes.
Winemaking
The grapes are selectively hand-picked and spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for 8 months on the full lees, then bottled unfiltered and unfined with minimal sulfur addition.
Aroma and Taste
The nose reveals stone fruit, citrus, and pome fruit, accompanied by a hint of beeswax. On the palate, it is tart-juicy and completely dry, with fine acidity and mineral tension. The finish is firm, lingering, and elegant with subtle smokiness.
Food Pairings
A versatile companion: perfect with sushi and sashimi, grilled pike-perch with lemon butter, or poultry dishes with herbs. Also a harmonious partner for goat cheese or vegetarian dishes with fennel and citrus.
Vintage Characteristics in the Region
The 2024 vintage was cool and rainy with reduced yields, resulting in very precise, fresh, and tension-filled Rieslings.
Conclusion
The 2024 Riesling trocken from Clemens Rosenkranz combines calcareous minerality, precision, and elegance. A purist, terroir-driven Riesling with clear origin and great drinkability.
