2024 Riesling dry Winery Alexander Schregel - Rheingau
Estate wine

Origin:

The grapes for this Riesling come from various vineyards in the Rheingau, carefully selected and hand-picked. The soils of slate, loess, and quartzite shape the wine's clear, mineral character. Alexander Schregel knows how to precisely capture the origin and freshness of his Rieslings with minimal intervention – puristic, vibrant, and unadulterated.

Expansion:

As with all wines from this young Rheingau winemaker, the wine is fermented spontaneously, unfiltered, without fining, and with minimal sulfur addition . Schregel's philosophy remains uncompromisingly artisanal: "A lot of vineyard, little cellar." The wine was allowed to mature on the full lees for several months, which gives it its fine texture and inner balance.

Aroma & Taste:

The 2024 Riesling's aroma displays notes of lime, green apple, and fresh herbs , accompanied by a delicate yeast note. On the palate, it is taut, stimulating, and wonderfully chiseled , supported by lively acidity and a fine, salty minerality . The finish is clear, long, and sizzlingly fresh .

Food recommendation:

An ideal accompaniment to oysters, ceviche, or sushi , as well as light summer salads, goat cheese, or Asian dishes with citrus and ginger . Its clarity and freshness also make it a true pleasure on its own.

Special features of the 2024 vintage in the Rheingau:

The 2024 vintage in the Rheingau showed its classically cool side . A wet spring gave way to a balanced summer with ample sunshine. The October harvest produced aromatically ripe, healthy grapes with moderate alcohol levels and lively acidity . The wines are precise, elegant, and minerally – typical of the Rheingau, but with a modern touch.

Conclusion:

A puristic, energetic Riesling that impressively showcases the unmistakable style of Alexander Schregel , the " Rheingau Discovery of the Year 2023 " (VINUM). Clear, juicy, savory, and stimulating —a wine for purists and explorers that leaves you wanting more.
